HOSTEL
If you have a backpacker’s soul, a small budget, or are travelling to Iceland alone, this may be a good option for you. Hostels are recognized world-wide as friendly places to meet fellow travellers. Iceland’s hostels live up to this reputation on top of also being clean and full of warm welcomes! Whether a quick walk or a fifteen minute bus ride away from downtown (buses free with the Reykjavik City Pass we include in your package), the hostels offer easy access to the city’s main attractions. Reykjavik's hostels all offer breakfasts, linen rental, laundry service, etc.
When hostels have Wi-Fi, it is usually free. Otherwise, many cafes in downtown Reykjavik offer free internet connections.

GUESTHOUSE
Whether they are someone’s actual home or an establishment more like a cosy and simple inn, Reykjavik guesthouses most often offer the best access to downtown. Breakfast is always included and you can opt for a private room with a bathroom or to use a shared bathroom upstairs. This second option is generally less expensive. There are triple and quadruple rooms available if you are travelling to Iceland with friends or family.
When guesthouses have Wi-Fi, it is usually free. Otherwise, many cafes in downtown Reykjavik offer free internet connections.

3 STAR HOTEL
Three star hotels are often in the middle of downtown areas. When they are not, they are about ten minutes away by taxi or bus. The accommodations are simple but many offer possible upgrades and triple rooms if travelling as a family. When they have Wi-Fi, it is usually free. Otherwise, many cafes in downtown Reykjavik offer free internet connections.

4 STAR HOTEL
Since extravagance and 5 star hotels are hard to come by in Iceland; these are the most deluxe options for your stay. The downtown hotels are comfortable, centrally located and reasonably spacious. They have quality restaurants and excellent efficient service. The hotels located on the outskirts of the downtown area, are more spacious and offer more services such as gyms, spas etc. All the 4 star hotels have possible upgrades, and several suites. Some have triple rooms, if you are on a family holiday. When they have Wi-Fi, it is usually free. Otherwise, many cafes in downtown Reykjavik offer free internet connections.

APPARTMENT
If you’re travelling to Iceland with your family or in a group of friends, you can rent apartments in Reykjavik by the day or by the week. Although catering is not included, you will have a kitchen area available to prepare your meals. Most of these apartments provide easy access to downtown.
