Ce voyage longuement muri a atteint son apogée lors du trek du Landmanalaugar. Terminer notre voyage par ces 4 jours de marche a été l'acmé de notre périple! En effet, c'est à l'intérieur du pays, dont les accès restent difficiles, que résident les paysages inédits d'une beauté rare, voire inégalée sur notre planète ! Bien sur, tout ce qui l'a précédé nous a rempli de merveilleux souvenirs, mais il n'en reste pas moins que ce pays est à découvrir vite car l'affluence des touristes grandie et certains sites magnifiques perdent de leur nature brute et authentique du fait de l'affluence. En même temps, cette beauté inégalable doit être accessible au plus grand nombre... un vrai dilemme ! L'accompagnement attentionné et réactif dont nous avons fait l'objet, les conseils et avis de notre interlocutrice (Claire), ont contribué largement à faire de ce voyage un sublime souvenir. De toutes nos expériences "nature et découvertes", nous pouvons affirmer que "destination Islande" est une agence de tout premier choix ! Un grand merci (encore!) à toute l'équipe et en particulier à Claire.

Allez-y les yeux fermés ! Un voyage exceptionnel, superbement organisé par Claire qui a brillamment converti en road-book, visites, hotels et activités, la majorité de nos souhaits.

Tout est très cher en Islande. Il faudrait plus penser à faire bénéficier de "bons plans" pour manger, par exemple, ou faire des courses/shopping... Sinon le pays étant par lui même exceptionnel, difficile d'être déçu par le voyage ;)

Voyage très satisfaisant pour nous 4. Les documents de voyage sont très instructifs et très clairs. Conseils pour éviter la foule aux lagunes glaciaires très appréciées. Prestations qui correspondaient à nos attentes. Merci à Priscilla et sa remplaçante.

Le voyage préparé jour par jour est un délice. Il suffit de choisir ses activités selon ses envies et se laisser guider, tout en ayant une réelle autonomie de choix... Chaque matin, nous faisons notre choix pour la journée et les suggestions sont vraiment à suivre, toujours de bon conseil ! Bravo aux équipes ayant préparé ces conseils et merci pour ce sur-mesure parfaitement adapt à nos envies de nature.

L’Islande est vraiment un pays extraordinaire

Priscilla a bien cerné nos demandes, les prestations proposées étaient en adéquation, les lieux d accueil Aussi. Rien à redire, c était un voyage incroyable à l image de ce pays... on a été conquis.

C'est un voyage au sein de la nature; une nature majestueuse que l'on ne connaissait pas, même nous du Canada. Une langue amusante à apprendre .....enfin quelques mots et à entendre aussi. C'est un pays très sécuritaire.

L'Islande est un pays à découvrir absolument .Les paysages sont spectaculaires et très variés. Le parcours proposé par Destination Islande était globalement adapté. Les hébergements étaient de très bonne qualité. Les 3000 km n'ont eu aucun effet sur notre plaisir durant ces 2 semaines en Islande.

Nous avons été subjugués par la beauté de l'Islande. Chaque km en voiture est un spectacle. La philosophie de vie des Islandais nous a beaucoup plu (notamment avec les bains de source d'eau chaude naturelle). La météo n'a pas toujours été clémente mais nous nous y attendions, et bien équipés, cela rajoute du charme à l'expérience. Je recommande de voir l'Islande au moins une fois dans sa vie. A peine rentrés en France, nous avions déjà envie d'y retourner. L'expérience avec l'agence Destination Islande a été vraiment très bonne et Claire a été de très bons conseils, et a su cerner notre demande de départ (qui était de ne pas aller dans les zones les plus touristiques de l'île) et cela a été une réussite car nous avons souvent eu la sensation d'être seuls au bout du monde ! Un grand merci de nous avoir fait découvrir l'Islande de cette façon !

Un voyage incroyable qui a mené nos pas dans des paysages grandioses, des gens très gentils et accueillants. Un des plus beaux voyages que nous ayons jamais fait.

Organisation à l’image de ce charmant pays

Un superbe voyage de deux semaines dans un monde inconnu. Très adapté avec nos deux enfants de 6 et 9 ans qui ont bien profité des paysages et des activités. Nous avons réussi à mixer visite, marche, déplacement en voiture et temps calme pour gérer la fatigue. Le pays est incroyable et l’itinéraire proposé a permis d’en voir les principaux spots ! À refaire en se concentrant sur certaines régions .

Nous avons passé 13 jours sur place. Pas de temps mort. Il y a toujours qqchose à visiter. Évidemment, des paysages à couper le souffle. De plus nous evons eu une super météo,

Les contacts avec Jessica ont été très satisfaisants car elle a été à notre écoute, a répondu à toutes nos attentes et a su faire des suggestions pertinentes quand nécessaire.

Je suis très satisfaite de mon séjour, il a été bien organisé, en respectant mon budget et mes envies, je conseille !

Voyage très bien organisé, étapes ni trop longues, ni trop courtes (250 km environ/jour). Le dépaysement est complet. Le Sud est très touristique mais le Nord est calme et magnifique

Excellente expérience islandaise avec une préparation minutieuse et à l’écoute de Claire. Un pays splendide où l’on ressent la puissance de la nature. Beaucoup de lieux très fréquentés notamment dans le sud ouest, mais beaucoup de pépites à découvrir si on sort un peu des lieux instagrammables. Coup de coeur pour la cascade de Gjain, la sortie ornithologique à Ingolfshöfdi, le quad sur plage de sable noir, la montagne de la sorcière, les environs de Myvatn. Superbe expérience de balade à poney islandais qui nous tenait vraiment à cœur à Lysuholl. Joséphine nous a emmenées sur la plage sous une pluie battante et 60 km/h de vent, mais on a adoré. Poneys d’une gentillesse remarquable, accompagnatrice très sympa, prêt de vêtements imperméables par l’écurie, au top! Sortie baleines reprogrammée à Reykjavik cause météo très agréable avec plusieurs baleines le long du trajet, sous le soleil. Voyage mémorable!

Un voyage clé en main pour profiter pleinement sans aucunes préoccupations!!! Que du plaisir et de l’émerveillement!

Un superbe voyage dans un pays magnifique. Les documents de voyage permettent de vivre une expérience sans stress, tout y est indiqué, réservations diverses, un tas de renseignements pratiques etc... Destination Islande est vraiment à recommander, nous avons pu nous immerger complètement dans ce monde différent, aux paysages très diversifiés. Une vraie réussite!

Je m’attendais à vivre un beau voyage mais ce que j’ai vécu en Islande dépasse très largement ce que j’espérais. Tout cela en grande partie grâce à Claire qui nous a accompagnés de façon très agréable et professionnelle, avant, pendant et après le voyage. Elle est très sympathique également. 22/20.

Un très beau voyage dépaysant. Des paysages superbes. Des hébergements sympathiques. Des suggestions de visites. Une route 1 sans circulation excessive. Tous les islandais, en tout cas ceux que nous avons croisés, parlent anglais ce qui est un vrai plus.

Tres beau voyage adapté à une famille

Notre séjour en Islande était magnifique, c'était un rêve ! Toute la famille a été émerveillée par chaque découverte. Les sites sont très touristiques mais extrêmement bien aménagés, propres et accessibles. Je n'aurais jamais osé me lancer dans une telle aventure sans l'agence, à l'écoute, réactive, avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Et je n'ai jamais souris aussi longtemps, jour et nuit 😊

ous sommes partis 11 jours en Islande. Coralie a été très disponible pour l’organisation du voyage et a fait un incroyable travail. Tant les carnets de voyage que l’itinéraire et les activités proposés par Coralie correspondait parfaitement à nos attentes. Le rythme prévu pour faite le tour de l’île en 11 jours était niquel et nous avons tout de même pu prendre le temps de se balader et de profiter des paysages. Encore merci pour ce magnifique voyage! C'est la deuxième fois que nous avons fait appel à Destination Islande pour visiter l'Islande.La première fois en 2018 pour visiter le Sud et l'Est,et cette année pour visiter L'ouest et le Nord et encore une fois tout a été très bien ! Très bon choix de véhicule, adapté à notre demande, très bon choix des guesthouses dont quelques uns étaient de véritables petites perles ! Très bonnes suggestions de visites dans un roadbook très bien rédigé. Beaucoup de "très bien" mais c'est notre ressenti après ce séjour en Islande et nous avons qu'une envie c'est d'y retourner et nous ferons sans aucun doute appel une nouvelle fois à Destination Islande. L'Islande est un pays incroyable. Des paysage à couper le souffle. On a parfois l'impression d'y toucher ce qu'il reste d'un monde encore intact. C'est émouvant mais nostalgique aussi parfois connaissant la fragilité de la planète. En tout cas, j'ai passé un voyage fabuleux. Merci à terre d'Islande et à Claire pour tous les conseils.

Très beau voyage dans un pays magnifique aux multiples paysages.

Destination Islande a toujours répondu à nos questions. C'était une première pour moi de louer une voiture et d'organiser un road trip. On a passé nos soirées à préparer le lendemain pour faire un maximum de choses. On a commencé par le musée PERLAN. Pour la dernière nuit, l'hôtel AURORA à côté de l'aéroport 5 min à pied, c'est génial, le loueur de voiture est à côté de l'hôtel aussi, pas de stress quand l'avion décolle à 7h30. On s'est très bien débrouillé, un pays facile à faire en voiture. Des étapes parfois un peu longues quand même mais le pays est vaste.

un voyage inoubliable, une nature si pure et des étendues quasiment désertes, beaucoup de fleurs malgré un climat plus rude. notre anglais pas trés "fluent" ne nous permettait pas de communiquer aisément mais l'accueil a toujours été sympa et à l'écoute de nos besoins;

Ce voyage a correspondu notre envie de découvrir ce beau pays et nous a comblés par la variété des sites visités entre les cascades, les volcans, les paysages, et aussi par la quiétude et le respect de la nature dont font preuve les islandais. Déplacements très faciles avec une voiture de location. Nous y retournerons.

Notre voyage était bien organisé, les hébergements confortables et bien situés, nous avons vu des paysages hors du commun et chaque journée était un émerveillement face à cette nature . le trajet en voiture est très simple et les routes sont particulièrement bien entretenue et facile à repéré. le google map est un plus mais pas nécessaire car les cartes données sont précises. le chois des restaurants est apprécié et on peut trouver pour tous les gouts .

Nous avons eu ce que nous avions demandé, à savoir, découvrir tous les aspects de l'ISLANDE en deux semaines !!! Cela fait environ 3 100 Km parcourus donc de longues étapes ! Autant dire que nous n'avons pas chômé et trainé sur la route. Cela ne nous nous a pas empêché de voir un maximum de choses car nous avons suivi quasiment l'intégralité de l'itinéraire tel que vous le proposiez dans le roadbook 🙂 on en a pris plein les yeux ! les "waou" étaient constants tellement nous étions surpris par la beauté et la force des paysages que nous avons découverts. un vrai choc esthétique et émotionnel !!! Au final, nous trouvons que vous avez bien réparti les étapes et les lieux d'hébergement. Les suggestions de visites étaient également bien choisies. De manière globale, il faut bien préciser que l'on va parcourir facilement un tiers de piste sur l'ensemble du parcours et que cela impose de conduire a minima un petit 4x4 (merci pour la recommandation d'ailleurs). C'est une petite dépense en plus mais c'est indispensable. Il faut aussi préciser que les étapes sont assez longues (en moyenne 3 à 4h de route sur la journée) et que pour visiter et profiter un maximum des sites à voir, il faut partir relativement tôt si on ne veut pas arriver trop tard à l'étape du soir ; nous partions le matin vers 8h00 8h30 et nous arrivions en moyenne vers 21h. C'était génial tout simplement et nous avons découvert un maximum de sites ; vous avez bien répondu à nos attentes !

Une expérience dépaysante, un retour à une nature brute d’une beauté époustouflante

L'agence (Claire) a vraiment été à l'écoute de nos besoins. Les excursions réservées d'avance étaient excellentes et en petits groupes. À chaque arrivée à un hôtel, aucun problème de check-in. Le détail de l'itinéraire est vraiment un plus. Merci pour ce voyage inoubliable. Nous recommandons vivement votre agence!

Un voyage sur mesure qui a sû repondre idealement à nos attentes. Julien a été present sur chaques demandes, questions... une organisation parfaite, un road book hyper bien detaillé. Je conseil sans hesiter l'equipe de destination islande.

Les activités étaient bien organisées, réservées hors des périodes d’affluence. Très bonne expérience de randonnée glaciaire avec une très bonne guide (Camille). La sortie macareux était également magique. Les hébergements étaient très bien et nos souhaits ont bien été suivis lors des réservations. Très agréable de pouvoir profiter des randonnées sans personne; nous recommandons les 2 premières semaines de mai pour ce voyage!

Prestations au top, les hébergements sélectionnés de très bonnes qualités, et l’assistance en français est toujours rassurante. Merci pour road trip de 17j! Magnifique voyage avec notre fille de 10ans.

Les 12 jours se sont parfaitement déroulés : aucun problème pour les réservations (activités et voiture), des hébergements avec beaucoup de charme et dans des environnements variés, des accueils simples mais chaleureux, des étapes bien dimensionnées (nous ayant permis de prendre notre temps et de voir les sites principaux et quelques endroits plus confidentiels), un dossier très complet fourmillant de bonnes adresses et de bons conseils.

Nous avons choisi l'Islande en hiver pour être dépaysés et nous n'avons pas été déçus! Un autotour de 2 semaines en famille, qui nous a emmenés de Reykjavik vers l'ouest et la péninsule de Snæfellsness puis le cercle d'or, la côte sud jusqu'à Höfn et la péninsule de Reykjanes au retour. Les paysages nous ont émerveillés à chaque détour de route, une sensation de grands espaces que nous avons expérimenté pour la première fois de notre vie. Un voyage préparé par Julien avec minutie avec des hébergements réservés selon nos exigences de confort et les activités que nous souhaitions faire, judicieusement programmées le long du parcours. Une sensation de liberté avec la sécurité de pouvoir joindre quelqu'un sur place en cas de besoin. Nous avons adoré séjourner en guesthouse pour la proximité avec nos hôtes, toujours extrêmement accueillants et pour le côté cosy de ces hébergements. (nous avons eu un gros coup de cœur pour la Sel Guesthouse). Le road book et le guide des régions, bien pensés, nous ont accompagnés au quotidien... il faut tout de même se faire ne raison: on ne peut pas tout voir! Nous sommes rentrés en France avec l'envie de revenir, cette fois pour découvrir le Nord de l'île.

Tout s'est déroulé sans encombre pendant notre séjour, les hébergements étaient tous très bons, la location de voiture s'est également très bien passée; le timing de l'itinéraire était bien équilibré et les activités étaient super. Nous avons fait appel à destination Islande pour nous guider dans notre premier voyage en itinérance en famille. Avec nos filles (2 ans et demi et 8 ans). Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine ou petits et grands ont eu des étoiles et des aurores boréales plein les yeux.

Très beau voyage, dépaysement total. L'organisation impeccable a permis de profiter pleinement des 6 jours su place pour visiter au max la côte sud sans se préoccuper des logements et des itinéraires. Nous avons passé un voyage absolument hors du temps et extraordinaire. Ce pays est une merveille dont nous avons pu profiter pleinement. Une très belle découverte de ce fabuleux pays aux paysages incroyables. L'organisation aux petits soins, permet d'apprécier sans se stresser. Les coups de coeur notés, sont très chouettes à découvrir, les restos recommandés également.

Nous sommes allés en Islande pour Noel, les jours fériés n'ont pas posé de problèmes pour trouver des restaurant ou des magasins. Il faut réserver pour les 24 et 25 décembre au soir. Le Midtown hôtel est idéalement placé pour rayonner dans Reykjavik. Les chambres sont confortables et bien équipées. L'excursion south coast of wonders réserve de très belles surprise. Prévoir éventuellement des "crampons" juste pour aller voir le glacier. nous avons déjeuné au Kock (très agréable) et fish and chips (bien), diné à Dass (pourrait mieux faire), Old Iceland (super) et Jorgensen (génial). Tous d'excellentes adresses avec un rapport qualité prix idéal pour le dernier. Toutes les personnes rencontrées étaient très sympathiques et parlaient parfaitement anglais.

Disponible, à l'écoute, de bons conseils, elle a parfaitement adapté notre séjour pour se caler sur nos envies et notre rythme. Belles prestations, choix d'hébergements adapté que ce soit en Guesthouse, hôtel, avec ou pas sanitaires partagés, tout a été super. Nous avons fait le sud mi novembre jusqu'à Jokulsarlon sur une semaine. Ça se fait très bien. On a pu voir pleins de cascades, geysers, plages, champs de laves, icebergs, glaciers... On conseille ! Les repas du soir étaient libres et ça peut vite faire un gros budget mais à vous de trouver des bonnes adresses ou acheter de quoi manger avant d'arriver à la chambre. Dernier point, super roadbook et pochette de voyage avec conseils de balades et visites reçues à l'arrivée à l'agence de location de voiture. De quoi finaliser sur place votre superbe voyage ! Hâte d'y retourner !

Début novembre, j'ai eu la chance d'admirer des aurores boréales lors de mon voyage. Malgré une météo pluvieuse, chaque jour offrait au moins une éclaircie, et les sites touristiques étaient magnifiques et quasiment déserts à cette période !

Ce voyage en Islande a été tout simplement époustouflant, dépassant toutes mes attentes. Voir et photographier des aurores boréales a été la cerise sur le gâteau d'une expérience inoubliable !

Notre voyage a été magique et totalement dépaysant ! Priscillia a parfaitement compris nos attentes et nous a déniché des hébergements idéaux.

Priscilla was so easy to work with! I told her all of my wishes and ideas as to what and where we wanted to go, and she fit it all in our 8 days. When we arrived, a few things were cancelled due to weather, but she was able to reschedule everything a few times for us.  She responded immediately when I needed her. Despite cancellations, some road closures and rescheduling, she was able to fit everything in.

I would highly recommend everyone going to Iceland to use Priscilla!!

In a nutshell, Nicky and I have  had a fantastic time all week except may be for the long queues at the airport so early on a Friday morning which was a bit of a bore but we got home O.K.

You asked me for feedback which I am happy to do so but all is positive.

From the beginning that I spoke to you over the phone, I felt that I had chosen well and you are a credit to ‘Iceland like a local’.

Your advice was taken and now as I realise how big Iceland is and with so much you could do, I am glad that I took on board all your advices.

If we come back, which I hope we will, we will fly to the North and base ourselves there for another enthralling week or more.

So here is the feedback.

A great start last Friday being upgraded to Business Class with Icelandic Air given that this was our first trip with them. I thought that you had arranged this as this was my first flight with Iceland Air and no previous history with them.

Unfortunately only economy on the way back but all was good.

Picked up the car O.K. with your road/information book and the car was perfect for our needs .We left it with one small stone chip which the Euro Car Rep suggested that we would not be charged for it.

Drove into Reykjavik  O.K. but must have missed The Kringlan Mall traffic lights turn off . Are these traffic lights mentioned on the overhead gantries as we missed the Mall again the following day?. No harm as when I realised that I had made a mistake, saw a sign for The Centre, followed my nose and found the hotel quite easily with the town map.

With regard to all of our hotels . All great choices by you and especially your last one, Hotel Duss that serves  breakfast from  4.a.m. for the  early booked in air passengers such as us.

Just one point. The Foss Hotel Hekla ,would not suit the infirm as there is no lift  and we also had to negotiate two sets of small steps before reaching the stairs to our first floor room. Those with heavy bags to carry may have a problem. However, we did see the start of the Northern lights as we did the previous day at Husafell.

On Saturday we went on the Whale watching tour. We saw white nosed dolphins and Mink whales. It was a pity that some visitors did not listen to the guide with regard to use of  sick bags etc but maybe there was a translation problem here. The guide was very knowledgably and his talk on the whale species very enlightening.

In fact Nicky said he was brilliant!

After the tour and walking back to the Hotel Skuggi to pick up the car at about 1 p.m. ish  we left for Husafell for the ‘Into the Glacier Tour’.

Unfortunately, although we followed your detailed route instructions onto and over The Snorrabraut intersection and over what we though was the bridge and  took the first left as advised , we ended in a business park and a dead end. We knew we were wrong as we didn’t loop under the bridge. Our fault.

Got back onto the main road ,looped to the left onto the A1 at all times looking for signs to Mosfellsbaer but soon  realised that we were heading back to Keklavik. Also got confused early on when I saw an airport with Icelandic Air planes not realising that there was another airport  at Reykjavik. Anyway turned around ,called into a N1 petrol station and we were  put back onto the right road.

We probably lost around 45-50 mins here.

From now on we never got lost and your directions were perfect. I think my problem was the big city and  trying to not crash the new hire car in the busy streets.

On reflection, two activities in a day was a hard ask given that we were new to the country and road system but it was our choice to do this.

When I realised that we would be late for the 3 o’clock tour I pulled over and rang the tour office. The guy there was very understandable and when I suggested that if there was any places for the 10 o’clock tour could we join it. He said no problem and another bonus was there was no extra cost for us.

Next day we went on the tour which was fantastic. Again the tour guide Emilia was very informative.

We left Husafell and followed your directions but as we had effectively lost 3 hrs, I decided to miss the volcanic crater at Bifrost and also the The Whale Fjord by going back under the tunnel and got to the hotel o.k. but visited The Thingvellir National Park, Geysir etc onto Fosshotel Hekla.

However, when I was checking the next day’s itinerary  with the road book stating our snow mobile tour was at 15.00 (page 26) I did not fancy driving in the dark over the desert and lava field.So I made a decision as were in the area to pop in to see if we could get on an earlier tour. Imagine my surprise when the girl on the tour reception stated that there was no tour at that time. I went back to the car and retrieved the voucher which in fairness did state the tour time as midday. No harm done and we were able to drive thorough the desert and lava field in daylight.

Again the snowmobile tour was wonderful, again with another excellent guide.

On Tuesday we had the scenic flight. Although the weather was now poor, the excellent pilot Aaron took us over as much as he could in an hour  and again an excellent guide.

We both thoroughly enjoyed this flight as it gave us another perspective of the desert, glacier etc from the sky.

Wednesday was just a sightseeing tour  with the Golden Gate etc and seals playing beneath it.

Brilliant!

Thursday and our last day ‘Inside the Volcano Tour’ .

Again brilliant!

Final night at Hotel Duss and a lovely evening again to finish with.

In summary we have had a brilliant time, your organisation and planning was perfect for us.

Dear Trent,

Back to our regular routines and Doreen is busy showing family and friends pictures of your wonderful country.

We’re certainly pleased with all aspects of the self-drive tour you packaged for us.  We appreciated the extra laminated maps and information and the road map of Iceland were invaluable.

Europcar upgraded us to a new KIA Hybrid that was wonderful to handle and comfortable interior.  They picked both of us up at our hotel in Reykjavik so I did not have to find my way back to our hotel.  Simply went over the car, signed the contract and we were on our way!

Our hotels were of an excellent standard and with well appointed rooms and comfortable beds.  Breakfasts presented a wide selection of food and many hotels had hot selections of foods.

The majority of the time we ate dinner in the hotel’s restaurant as it was convenient and we found the main courses to be well presented and flavourful.

Trent, your daily directions were clearly laid out and once we got the hang of matching the ideas outlined in the regional maps section to each day’s outline, we found many worthwhile suggestions for hikes and places to visit.  Needless to say we didn’t have the energy or time to visit all that your entire booklet offered.  We enjoyed each day with two or three highlights.  The driving distances for each day were perfect for us, giving us time to enjoy an activity or visit a site and still arrive at our evening hotel at a reasonable time.  The road map was a valuable tool for planning next day’s activities and determining where we were going.

In conclusion, Trent, thank you for a thorough and comprehensive guidebook to Iceland and for answering our many inquiries.

Just wanted to get back to you and thank you for organizing our Iceland trip.
We truly enjoyed the north, north east and south east the most – we loved the “isolation” and uncrowded roads.
We spent quite a bit of time hiking. We also obtained the fly fishing guide for Iceland and tried our luck at 5 different lakes. What incredible scenery!
the food at the guest houses was amazing!!!

Just an FYI – the Foss hotel at Mvetin was incorrectly placed. It is on the main road 600 meters for the intersection (not on the side road).
The other Foss hotel we stayed at (sorry, I do not have my itinerary with me – I’ll try to email it later) was amazing!!! Right on the inlet, great food and just perfect.

I am ready to come back and climb the highest point in Iceland. It looked inviting!

We think you captured us in this itinerary. We are pleased with the choice to start in the west and around. Having our excursions at the end was terrific! We really could just take it all in and not have so many decisions to make. It was the best way to end our time in Iceland.

We really enjoyed the west and north. Spending time on the land and outdoors, we feel rejuvenated. We’ve done many hikes, saw terrific museums and sights. Each day we used your information to plan our day.

Been meaning to send you a note since we returned home after our trip to Iceland. I wanted to thank you for the great itinerary you put together for us, the great excursions (particularly the snorkeling and glacier hike) and all of the information supplied about the sites.
Also, your office was very helpful with a couple of issues that arose due to some weather impacts. We had a terrific time, got to see so much of the southern part of the country and really enjoyed the hotels and other accommodations.

We are home, and already scheming how and when we can come back to Iceland. Before regular life piles too many things on top of the memories, I wanted to thank you again for putting together such a fantastic itinerary for us. Although if we were to do it again we would probably want to spend more nights in fewer places, we wouldn’t have wanted to miss any of the ones we stayed at this time, so it worked out perfectly.
In particular I wanted to mention the guesthouse we stayed at the first two nights, Selid, which was a lovely place to begin our trip. The setting was spectacular, and our hosts friendly and down-to-earth. We would definitely return there, in any season.
Also the hotel we stayed at in Husafell was beautiful, and we wanted to particularly commend Mariana at the front desk, for her warmth and help. She was lovely, and we had probably the best dinner of our trip in their restaurant.

Thanks, too, for the tip on the pool at Hveragerdi. We managed to swim every day of our trip, but that first one was memorable.

The accommodations that you arranged for us were very good and the Foss Hotel Vatnajokull in Hofn was very special. Coming to comfortable accommodation at the end of a long day’s driving is very important. We did feel that driving in 28 kms to Hof i Vatnsdalur after a very long day was difficult but the people were very pleasant so in the morning, we were more appreciative of the beautiful countryside surrounding the farm. We enjoyed the car that was supplied and it did take us a little while to get used to driving on the roads but they were fine and well maintained. After Iceland we flew to Longyearbeyen in Svalbard and enjoyed a cruise on a small ship SS Malmo and had a great time there too. She took great care to make sure that we were safe on our walks and that we were duly provisioned with treats for our days in the mountains. Her ability to organise an evening meal for us in difficult and busy conditions after a hard days walking was greatly appreciated by all. just to let you know that the Sunna hostel was great and the breakfast very good. You could not want more. The whale tour was great got to see a lot of animals, also a nice boat with a great crew. Just a note to say thank you for a fabulous holiday. We were lucky with the weather and simply loved Iceland in every way – the scenery, the lack of people, the roads (especially the fords!), the hotels were all terrific. We were looking for puffins all week and on the last couple of days saw thousands. We didn’t brave the thermal springs but that’s cos we wouldn’t have been able to get out of the water, and the wind was a bit too strong to tempt us out on the water for whale watching, but that just gives us a reason to come back again to explore the north of the island in a couple of years or so.

Just wanted to say thank you for sorting out the details of a great holiday – we all loved it! What an amazing place and so easy to get around and see things. The trip to the glacier national park was well worth the kms – all amazed by the iceberg lagoon – the only disappointment was the shocking weather while we were there which meant we couldn’t stand the thought of the boat trip in the driving rain.

Our self drive tour was really great and everything went very well, from the greeting at the Keflavik airport to the Blue Lagoon excursion (thanks for the suggestion) on the last day. Even the weather was good; on a 15 day trip we had only two days of rain. We came back with a tan that shamed all the people who went on a beach holiday! The option of renting a little flat in Reykjavik was great. It allowed us to really experience the capital and to go on nearby short breaks (whale watching!!). We will always remember those beautiful sunsets over the volcanoes of the central highlands. We will likely be back in spring to do some bird watching.

Competant and available representatives. Flawless organization and a roadbook full of useful advice. Meteorological issues prevented our excursion to the d’Ingolfshodi peninsula South of Vatnajökull. After a quick stop in your office, it was reimbursed without a problem. Thank you for everything.

We did the tour of the island and we were never bored. A varied and magical trip. The beauty of Iceland’s changing landscapes surprised and impressed us as well as the kindness of Icelanders despite the language barrier! A magical destination for the new year.
We were a little worried about heading to such a different destination despite your excellent information and advice. But Iceland won us over in every way. The Christmas decorations in Reykjavik, the science fiction like geothermal activity, the comfortable guesthouses, the stunning landscapes under the snow. We experienced very unpredictable but totally manageable weather (from 14 to 46 degrees). We also got the feeling that Icelanders are easier to get to know in low tourist season. We met some great people.
