This program is a great overall representation of the diversity of the island’s natural marvels. Discover the wide range of landscapes and the many experiences the south and west of Iceland have to offer. Black sand beaches, wild coastlines, waterfalls, farms surrounded by green pastures, hot water springs and majestic glaciers (Mýrdalsjökull and Vatnajökull which is Europe’s largest) ! With this program you will also get the opportunity to visit Iceland’s iconic areas such as Geysir, the Blue Lagoon, Þingvellir, the volcanoes of Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. Relax in the silky waters of the natural springs and hot pools that ermerge from Iceland’s volcanic depths all while being surrounded by amazing landscapes.
Arrival at Keflavík international airport. One of our transferists drives you to your accommodation in Reykjavik and you have the rest of the day to discover the city.

Today you have a free day to discover the capital city. The downtown area of Reykjavik has a high concentration of cultural institutions. Walk alongside the ocean to the old lighthouse calles Grotta or have your first experience of bird watching by the shores of Tjornin. Stop off at Harpa, house of the National Symphony Orchestra or enjoy the magnificent view from the top of Perlan or Hallgrimskirkja.

It’s time to say goodbye to the capital and pick up your vehicle abd head along the Hvalfjordur, « Whale Fjord ». Hike to the Glýmur waterfall that drops 200m and soak-in the overall beauty of this wonderfull fjord ! Next continue to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula stopping off in the town of Borgarnes and relax in one of the natural hot springs along the way. Drive along the southern coastline to Arnarstapi and Hellnar discovering the wild coasts of the peninsula under the Snæfellsjökull volcano.

Drive along the northern coastline of the peninsula discovering the wild coasts before entering the Dalir region and its bird cliffs. Open your eyes to get a better chance to see Iceland’s majestic white-tailed eagle, Haliaeetus albicilla – with a wingspan up to 2.5 meters.

Today, head south west to visit a Volcano ! Drive through the valley of Sudurardalur,, visit the Volcano crater of Grábrók. Discover the beautiful scenery over Borgarfjörður from the crater. Continue to Reykholt valley where you will find the Deildartunguhver hot spring. It is the highest flowing hot spring in Europe and it is known for its rapid flow rate of 180 liters per second.
Night in the Húsafell area– breakfast included
Today discover one of Iceland’s most famous areas : the Golden Circle. Start with Þingvellir and its national park and discover the effects of the ocean rift and the site of the oldest parliament in the world. Next drive to Geysir where you will find the popular hot springs and geysers including the powerful Strokkur, the country’s most famous geyser, shooting vast jets of boiling water up to 40 meters high. Finish your day at the waterfall of Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic and beloved waterfalls.
Night in the Hella area– breakfast included
Take the South Coast road and explore Þjorsardalur with the Hjálparfoss waterfall and the farm of Þjóðveldisbær. Observe Hekla volcano, the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers as you drive through lands. Stop at the black sand beaches and observe the cliffs full of birds on the ocean-side of the road. Then, drive to Seljavallalaug and relax at the outdoor geothermal swimming pool. It is one of the oldest pools in Iceland. Built in 1923, it is still accessible and free ! Finish your day driving through Vík and the lava field of Eldhraun till your accommodation.
Night in the Kirkjubæjarklaustur area– breakfast included
Take a hike around the area of Skaftafell and discover the spectacular trails of the Vatnajökull National Park. Then, drive east to the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and be amazed by the icebergs that are cast off from Europe’s largest glacier. It almost seems like you are in Greenland for a minute or two.. End your day by crossing the verdant region of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and the long of the black desert of Myrdalssandur back to Vík.

Drive along the southern coast of the Reykjanes peninsula heading to Keflavík. Observe the savage coasts and lunar landscapes formed by numerous volcanic eruptions mixed with the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon.

Sadly, it’s time to drop your rental car off at Keflavík International airport for your flight home. If you have a late flight, why not take a little moment to relax with a pre-flight soak at the Blue Lagoon.

Sleep in an ice cave
Do you long to experience the deep cold? Well put on your crampons and helmet, grab your ice pick and traverse a glacier to explore an ice cave that will also be your accommodation for the night.
The exact location is confidential, but we can tell you that it is located 25 km from the Skaftafell region.
Once you have arrived at the Vatnajökull glacier, it’s time to meet your equipment! Helmets, crampons and ice picks will make sure you are properly prepared! Enter the ice cave and be amazed by the many focal points as you discover the various shades of blue created by the varied density of the ice.
After a local Icelandic diner, set out your sleeping bag and enjoy your night under the glacier. What an adventure!

Embark on a zodiac tour to be able to reach a small isolated island in the middle of a glacier river (south Iceland).
You will find several yurts there. It’s time to reconnect with the nature and enjoy every second of this experience : it all starts off by turning your phone off, taking the fishing nets out of the water and season the fresh salmon for tonight’s bbq.
After stargazing and perhaps get the chance to see northern lights, slip under your sheepskin cover in your yurt for a lovely night..

Participate in preparing and enjoying a mouth-watering Icelandic style 3-course gourmet meal using fresh local ingredients, all under the supervision of skilled and entertaining local chefs. Afterwards you will have plenty of time to enjoy, in a relaxing atmosphere, a well-earned glass of wine.

Night on a glacier cap
From Reykjavík to the Lanjökull glacier, your guide will drive you in a 4×4 that is specially equipped for the glacier. Once off the main tracks, you’ll exchange your comfort for an exceptional experience. Your driver-guide will drive on the glacier and then find the perfect shelter for the night. When you have set up camp, you’ll have time to appreciate this white desert. Like an explorer, you will truly experience these polar conditions.
In the morning, you’ll take a short glacier walk to discover your icy surroundings. Then it will be time to head back to Reykjavík and the comfort of the city.
